The Purple Twins are the reincarnation of the famous twins Chiyo and Utako that picked up their fathers swords when he died and protected the weak and innocent. Chiyo was the strong and fierce warrior and she wielded the heavier Katana with deadly accuracy. Utako was the smaller and more agile and she wielded the Wakizashi in a deadly dance that never failed to hit its target. It is said that the purple twins was never defeated and that they gave their lives to become these swords. Swords that would guide the good hearted to defend against evil…

The story of the twins

Let me tell you a story…

It is said that a long time ago in japan two girls were born with 7 minutes between them. The eldest was named Chiyo, which means eternal because her grandfather thought her eyes looked old, like that of an eternal warrior. The youngest was named Utako which means child of the song. She was always singing and dancing, even as a very small child barely able to walk.

When the girls were 14 their home was attacked and their entire family slain. Their father, a noble samurai, protected them to the best of his abilities and many of the attackers died by his hand before they killed him with a poisonous arrow to the back. As the attackers moved in to kill the twins they found them standing next to their dead parents, holding their fathers swords.

Laughing the attackers launched themselves towards the twins, only to learn that size and strength mean little when your mind is focused. Not one of the attackers survived that day and as the twins stopped to mourn their dead they noticed that the royal blue color of their fathers swords had turned purple from all the blood…

After that day the sisters roamed Japan, searching for the Oni responsible for the death of their family. In their wake evil was slain where ever it was found and soon their names reached even the ears of the Emperor. He sent out soldier to capture the sisters, but no matter how many he sent, they all failed to find or defeat the sisters who was protected by the people of japan for their kindness and generosity.

10 years after the massacre of their family the sisters located the terrible Oni responsible and killed her and her minions in an epic battle. Both sister was wounded and as the Emperors soldiers closed in on them they realized they would not survive to the next morning. What happened next no one never really know, but when the Emperors men found the sisters they were dead on the ground and the swords was no where to be found…

Some years later a young girl named Yukiko found the blades in an old cave as she ran from bandits attacking her village. In her hands the blades continued their battle against evil and as Yukiko died another pure soul found the blades and so on. Until this day.

It is rumored that another blade was given special powers on the day of the massacre: the Tanto used by the twin sisters mothers to defend their younger sister, but that is an entirely different story…
